This policy explains how De Jager Hattingh Attorneys, Notaries & Conveyancers ("we", "us") collects and processes personal information through this website, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Information you give us

If you complete the contact form we collect your name, email address, telephone number where provided, and the content of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry.

Enquiries are emailed to our office and recorded in a private Google Sheet that we control. Please do not send confidential or privileged case detail through this form. Use it to make contact, and we will arrange a secure channel.

Information collected automatically

We use two analytics tools, and neither runs before you accept cookies:

• Google Analytics 4 — measures pages viewed, approximate location, device and referral source. Until you accept, it runs without cookies and reports only aggregated, modelled data.
• Microsoft Clarity — records your session, including mouse movement, clicks and scrolling, to show us how the site is used. This script is not loaded at all unless you accept.

Cookies and your choice

On your first visit you can Accept or Decline analytics cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser and honoured on later visits. Declining leaves the site fully functional. To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the choice will be requested again.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. It is shared only with Google and Microsoft in their capacity as providers of the services above, and where we are required to do so by law.

Retention

Enquiry records are kept for 30 days, after which they are deleted unless they form part of a matter file, which is retained per our professional obligations.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, correct or delete it, or object to its processing. Contact us using the details above.
